oh, christmas tree

In the past, I have clipped Christmas cards to ribbons and displayed them.

This year Censational Girl, made this cute Christmas tree card holder, and I wanted to try my hand at it.

So, I got out the paper, the ribbon, and my bulletin board and got to work.

Yes, that is truly what it looked like, just a bunch of stuff everywhere! It was fun to be messy! Oh, and by the way, we’ve only had these 4 Christmas cards sent to us, so I’ll just think it’s because you don’t have our new address yet. If that’s the reason, email me, and I’ll get you that address!

And this is how it turned out:

It’s a fun & different take on the tradish mantle display or the ribbon display. Plus it was fun to get creative.

I think next year I will try a jingle bell display idea. Guess you’ll have to wait till next year to see what I mean!

Now, on to make my wreath, time is running out! Here is my wreath idea, stolen once again from CG!

easy fashion show!

No but seriously, check it out, host your own fashion show with google + projector. Genius!

the door-chalkboard project

I have been fascinated with chalkboard paint, I had to go get some, and paint something. I’ve had my eye on this door for quite some time, but just now, took the time to get the paint, the brushes, and I got to work!

The idea was to create a menu board for meal planning, I’ve tried using a picture frame that you wipe off, but in reality this hasn’t happened, it became too cumbersome to googone off the sharpie from the previous week’s meals, so I stopped meal planning.

Here are the project before and afters…

This also gives you a sneak peak at our new home! More pictures to come!

color shout out

I came across these photos while checking out the CB2 email. This place was so inspiring, mainly because I am usually under the impression that my apartment is too colorful. Okay, not “too” colorful, but I am always tempted to “tone it down.” This is because of many, many things, but mainly, I think, lack of inspiration. So this, is a tribute to color, and to bringing it back, and saying no to all things Kirklands, while we’re at it.

a new wonderful discovery, bubble chandeliers

I just found some of these while image searching something completely unrelated. Bubble Chandeliers, by Lindsey Aldeman. They are completely delicious and I will have one of these one day in my home.

Good grief, I can just imagine one of these hanging over my dining room table… ah…. I think they would make food taste better.

Sunday’s Coming

This video was shown at the Drive Conference while we were there this week, it had us all rolling. It’s only so funny, because it’s so very true.

dual purpose

Check out this screen window that I am using to hold my earrings and necklaces. I truly love the way it turned out. It’s like, my jewelry became my art work for this wall, I love dual purpose decor!

soundside {the rundown}

I wanted to make a catchy brochure for Jeremy for the Wilmington Young Professional’s event last Thursday night. We’re thinking of building an entire branding concept around the idea of “seeing clearly” with a picture that is blurry and fades into focus.

Here’s what we came up with:

The Exchange!

theexchange

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged this yet. One of the most exciting things going on in my life right now (there are others, competition is a good thing in this category) the Exchange is of the highest ranked. It’s a clothing swap, no. An art gallery, no. It’s a concert, wait, a benefit? Yes! It’s all of these, all in one! And YOU classy, stylish Wilmington ladies, are invited.

What I love about this event is that it benefits Haiti! What a tremendous time to be sending aid to a country that is in desperate need! HALF United – an incredible organization dedicated to feeding those in need will be giving the money raised at this event to Haiti!

A clothing swap, too! It’s ingenius! And as if that weren’t enough, local artists will be hanging their work as well as the local hit band, Rio Bravo will be keeping us entertained through out the evening.

As the event’s, graphic designer, I’ve had the privilege of putting together an event website, facebook fan page, and twitter. I hope that you’ll follow us and that you’ll join us for the Exchange on March 6th!
