Today has been weird, interesting, really. I’ve listened to more talk radio, read more articles, and watched more tv news than I have probably ever on any subject.
I guess today’s headlines have been too captivating not to read, and the approaches, have been from every angle.
From thenation.com, a few of the headlines of most read articles:

Regardless, it’s hard to know how to feel. I heard so many saying they are proud to be an American , which I am, I was even before this. Am I glad that a 10 year war had results? Why of course. Many men, women and children lost their lives on 9/11, many US troops have died in war, and yet there is still more to come, we can’t deny that. Many troops are still there, trudging forward, to continue the war on terror.
For a man who was hated by many, (just read twitter or facebook if you don’t believe that statement) many lengths were taken to dispose of his body in a Muslim tradition and buried at sea, to deny his followers the privilege of making his grave site a shrine. (according to talk radio sources)
But today, chants of “USA, USA” and “Hey, Hey, Hey Goodbye” were heard outside the whitehouse and at Ground Zero, celebrating, elation, joy, justice. And yet, I don’t think I’ve ever cheered the death of anyone, it’s an interesting concept.
The true celebration was marked just a few weeks ago with Easter, with the cross, the ressurection, the true Victory. Jesus paid the price for all of us so that we could have life to the full. The true celebration of defeat over evil. I celebrate Jesus death & resurrection every day, because it is the reason that I have life.
I didn’t mean to go straight Christian on you, but wait, yes I did. I believe it to my core. I believe it so much that I think we should be out in the streets celebrating this truth, this fact, daily, always, in our hearts, in our minds.
Regardless, I’m thankful for my country, for our military, for the great lengths and the training and the operations they carry out to keep me safe. But, I’m more thankful for Jesus. His victory is mine. I’m not trying to deny you of patriotism, I believe it’s important, but I believe more in the power of Jesus to save, to heal, to redeem, than I do in government or military.
For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4
