I saw this on facebook from one of my friends, Amanda’s (hey, Amanda!) facebook page. She posted an adorable little picture of her son painting a pumpkin.
I had to try pumpkin painting with Liam. I just had to.
And what, with that abandoned plastic pool sitting all lonely in storage, it just made the perfect paint-catcher for Liam paint it up to his heart’s content.
So, there we went… supplies in hand out to the back patio to get our paint on.
We had so much fun, Liam painting, and me, well just joining in, photographing him (watch out paparazzi!)
All you need are just a few supplies…
A pumpkin obviously (these were 4 for $10 at our local grocery)
Something to put paint in, I opted for these empty, recyclable chobani cups, they were perfect!
Paint, I used 3 colors in acrylic – brush is not needed, believe me! Although depending on the age of your child, the brush might make this activity great for kids of older ages as well.
And then some type of plastic, paper, or something to catch the paint. And an apron, or smock.
And the pumpkin turned out great in it’s new blue, green, shade.
Then, we busted out a blank canvas and Liam proceeded to walk all over it, literally.
It has made for really cute little footprint painting. Also, totally unplanned. Oh sweet, toddler bliss.
